Class 1.01

Lesson 1.01

Today is my first Practical lesson, pretty nervous because this is my first time trying a gear bike, though I have been riding auto bikes for more than a decade, because of the weight that gear bikes hold it made me nervous. 

Checked with the receptionist as I wasn’t sure where I should wait, they showed me the way to motorcycle waiting area where you gotta sit on the row and tag no mentioned in the BBDC app. 

A Female instructor came in and was verifying our Id. Later she showed us the necessary steps we gotta take in before starting every class. Starting from wearing knee and elbow guards, tag, helmet with the liner until the gloves. 

Later she brought us to the motorbike parking station, she checked with us if we had any experience driving bike before and based on that they were assigning bikes. For me since I had previous experience I was assigned with CB125. I was happy haha because usually for shorter people (myself 155 CM) and with no experience they assign MSV. But I wanted to learn with CB125 as that’ll be easier to adapt when driving normal bikes once you got the license. 

She started explaining the parts of the bike such as the front and rear brakes, indicators, how you got to Mount the bike by changing the handle bar slightly towards right and holding front brake, so that if you miss your balance it will fall off your side and you can hold it. We were asked to mount bike, find the bitting point and try to move forward for few metres and pedal back to the starting place. Once you’re comfortable doing this with out putting your foot down, they will ask you to ride in the mini circuit in first gear and shifting it to second gear. I was the last one to start riding in mini circuit as my feet couldn’t touch the ground for a while and so couldn’t pedal back that fast.

The requirement for the first lesson is to ride the bike in 1st gear. The instructor told me that even though I was tiptoeing I still have a good balance. At the end of the lesson she told us that we all passed 1.01. Hope 1.02 gets better and I don’t forget the touch of the bike as I could only get the class next week.
